FAUST
'A PRICE TOO HIGH'

A photographic tableau inspired by the legend of Faust, more commonly know as the scholar who made a deal with the devil Mephistopheles. The legend Faust was typically depicted as a Male who offers his soul in exchange for diabolical favours. Those favours vary by the tale, but tend to include youth, knowledge, wealth, or power. The tale may have a moralizing end, with eternal damnation for the foolhardy venture

My work embraces the postmodern concept of the reconstructed narrative. Is this a fairy tale or did this deal really take place? And why was Faust typically depicted as Male?

The work is strongly influence by the photographers Phillip Lorca DiCorcia and Gregory Crewdson.
